Passengers under 18 years travelling alone

Package holiday

You will need to go into a store to do this. Find your local store. These cannot be booked over the phone or online.

Flight only

When travelling on a flight-only booking through Thomas Cook Airlines UK, passengers can travel alone if they are 14 years or over. They must be able to travel unaccompanied.

14 and 15 years old

A young person of the age of 14 or 15 years can travel on a direct Thomas Cook Airlines flight only, when travelling from a UK airport, or to a UK airport. To enable them to do this, a Young Persons Declaration Form must be completed in full, and accurately. You can download this below.

A booking cannot be made until the forms have been received by us and validated.

The young person will be pre-seated near the front or rear of the aircraft to allow the crew to observe them during the flight. We are not able to supply a chaperone service and the young person will be responsible for getting between the check-in and the gate, and on arrival from the aircraft through immigration.

16 or 17 years old

They only need to provide a letter of consent from their parents or guardian for the check-in and gate staff. These flights are bookable through our Contact Centre on 01733 224 330, option 4, then 2, then 2.


  • Young persons are only permitted on direct routes on a Thomas Cook Airlines flight.
  • Young persons of ages 14 and 15 years must complete and validate the Young Persons Declaration Form. The form and completion instructions can be downloaded below.
  • Young persons of ages 16 and 17 years must have a letter of consent to travel.
  • We are unable to book a person aged 14 or 15 years within 7 days of travel without previous agreement.
