Malta in October
Weather in Malta in October
When October rolls around, Malta’s weather starts to cool down a little at a more manageable 21°C. Expect the occasional quickly passing shower, but for the most part you’ll still have bucket loads of sunshine to soak up.
We recommend taking advantage of the gentle breeze and taking to the high seas in a sailboat to see this charming island from the water.
I had envisioned a Mediterranean island with sea breezes and lots of colour, and instead, discovered quite quickly that Malta was more African than Mediterranean.
The islands of Gozo and Comino are more what I had in mind – breezy, bright, and full of colour, and day trips from these islands are well worth considering as some of Malta’s most iconic scenery can only be seen from a boat on the teal green waters.
Malta was nothing like what I was expecting...
Palm trees and prickly pear are rampant across the country, as are bright purple blooms, which you’ll find cascading down the sandstone homes, from the country’s capital Valletta right out to the Old City of Mdina.
I’d say it’s also worth considering hiring a car while you’re on the islands, as the public transport can be a bit iffy, and can take a long time to get anywhere. You’ll be much cooler in a small car than on foot or by bus, and you’ll see a heck of a lot more too!I’m Being Erica, Travel Blog: imbeingerica.com
