How do travelling Belgians really view air travel?
Thomas Cook Airlines surveyed 1,050 travellers for their opinions on travelling by air and the role the airlines play in this.
We summarise their responses into six points and investigate how Thomas Cook Airlines satisfies the wishes and expectations of Belgian travellers:
85% of Belgian travellers are familiar with Thomas Cook Airlines. The airline is completely Belgian and the vast majority of the crew members on the aircraft are Belgians. The fleet of 7 aircraft fly from Brussels to more than 60 destinations.
So Thomas Cook Airlines is certainly a familiar airline for Belgian travellers.
At Thomas Cook Airlines, we assume that people departing on a trip are going to want to come back sooner or later. So the listed price contains both the outbound and the inbound flights. There are no hidden costs, and airport taxes and luggage fees are included.
Even if fuel prices rise, we do not charge you a fuel surcharge. The administrative costs are limited to €16 per file (note, not per passenger) and are clearly indicated during the purchasing process.
By so doing, we satisfy the traveller’s demand for not only advantageous, but also and above all transparent prices.
At Thomas Cook, we don’t stint on comfort and service. It’s only natural that you want to sit next to your travel companions and your kids on the aircraft without having to pay extra to do so.
The same goes for luggage fees: you can take one piece of hold luggage (max. 20 kg) and one carry-on (max. 5 kg) per person free of charge, even if that person is a baby.
Once on board, kids receive a colouring book and coloured pencils, and they can watch fun cartoons on the on-board entertainment system during the flight. You only have to ask and a member of the cabin crew will gladly heat up your baby’s food. The toilets are also equipped with changing tables. There is no extra cost for bringing pushchairs and high chairs.
Children younger than 12 flying for the first time receive a “flying licence”, of which they are sure to be proud. At Thomas Cook Airlines, the flight is a time of fun for the kids and a time of relaxation for the parents.
If there’s a glitch - a lengthy delay or the cancellation of a flight, say - Thomas Cook Airlines doesn’t just leave you to your own devices. We search for an alternative to get you to your destination in the shortest possible time.
Our intervention team is ready to keep you updated and assist you. You will be given a snack and a drink, and when necessary, an overnight hotel stay. You can relax in a separate location within Brussels Airport, which also has toys and entertainment for the kids.
All these efforts are seriously appreciated by Belgian travellers. Incidentally, survey participants put Thomas Cook Airlines, together with Brussels Airlines, in joint first place as the airlines that best dealt with the flight problems caused by the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud in April 2010.
