As from May 1st: mandatory travel insurance for travelers to Cuba

Whoever is planning to travel to Cuba from May 1st, will have to consider a new regulation from the Cuban authorities.

Starting May 1st, tourists travelling to Cuba will have to prove they subscribed a travel Insurance covering medical costs.

The attest also has to be delivered by a broker or by an authority approved Cuba.

Non insured travellers or travellers not able to prove they are will have to subscribe to a local insurance at their airport arrival. This insurance does not include repatriation by air ambulance and is limited to a refund of medical expenses without follow up of the customer’s medical needs.

Do not wait to be in Cuba to subscribe such an Insurance. Avoid queues at the airport and subscribe at your online booking or afterwards via our contact center.

Mondial Assistance, our partner is approved by the Cuban authorities.
